Who Should Run Our Lives?

Here's Some Food for Thought

Will Governments Keep You Free?

• They use force (taxes & confiscation) rather than persuasion to achieve goals.  Is this freedom?
  
  
• They take from us all to fund projects - whether you benefit or not
  They get their cut off the top!
  
• They create monopolies like utilities, cable companies and sports teams.
  Do you get good service - or free tickets - for your "investment" in their "vision?"
  
  
• They keep citizens scared, confused, disarmed and misinformed. 
  Can you make good life choices based on the "fear of the week?"
  
  
• They pass laws to increase their own power at the expense of your freedom.
  
• They control and restrict our means of interaction (information, morality, sexuality, media).
  
  
• They keep an economic class system intact by controlling currency and its value.
  Did you know government is the only cause of inflation?  It's really a hidden tax!
  
• Continually limit means of acquiring and sharing information or distort it (spin, censorship)
  Somehow, it's always "for the children!"
  Do you believe "Dan Blabber," "Tom Brokejaw," and "Repeater Jennings?"
  
  
• Governments often limit the means of acquiring wealth and property, of keeping what we earn.
  Those who have access to power, through contributions or voting blocs, get the "goodies."
  Did you know that you pay those "corporate" taxes?  The companies just collect 'em.
  
  
• Governments pretend to provide benefits out of thin air. 
  These "freebies" usually go to others, and for you mean higher taxes - less of your earnings to keep.
  
  
• They foster corruption (e.g. campaign "contributions").
  
• They create boogeymen, whom "we"  must then pay to invade (Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein).
  
• Some just isolate and slaughter helpless "outsider" groups.
  Examples:  Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Janet Reno.
  

• Hey... If something's worth doing, isn't it worth doing voluntarily?  Cooperatively?  Peacefully?
  
• Can't we find voluntary ways to meet our highest goals?
